Pirates take Appel in 1st Round

On their off day after a series win against the Brewers let's hope the Pirates were not off when they selected Mark Appel in the first round of the MLB draft. The Pirates selected in the 8th position and were surprised to find Appel still available. Some considered Appel a possible number 1 pick in a draft that lacked a clear cut number one. The Pirates wasted no time in taking the 6'4" Stanford right hander. Now that the stocking of high round power pitchers has resumed, let's find some guys that can bring in some runs.
