6-4

Another close one that the Pirates let slip away, young players, young pitching, close games, losses. The evidence is piling up that it's hard to win with young players, unless they all hit home runs every day like Garrett Jones or are as talented as Andrew McCutcheon. Maholm pitched ok, but young, inexperienced teams make mistakes. As I said the Legend hit another HR last night, that's 12. The unfortunate thing is most of them have been with noone on base. Ryan Doumit also knocked one out. Maybe his hitting is coming back. It would be a good time for that.

Surprisingly, I checked the standings and the Pirates were in first place. I didn't think they were anywhere close to that. ....It was the Venezualan Summer League though. They are the Pirates and maybe some day one of them will play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
